When we experience depression or anxiety, it can be difficult to recognize the moments of satisfaction, enjoyment and connection that have felt abundant at other times in our lives. My main goal as a therapist is to collaborate with you in your undertaking to change how you feel. When you feel more resilient and more confident in your ability to initiate and navigate change, you will regain the feelings of satisfaction, enjoyment and connection that you currently lack. I specialize in working with individuals having difficulty with major life adjustments or who are feeling stuck in a rut and experiencing depression and/or anxiety as a result.
We will work together to help you tackle current problems. We will examine unhelpful patterns of behavior that have brought about current problems. We will replace harmful or unhelpful patterns of behavior to ensure that they do not reoccur. We will set goals around what you would like your life to look like, and work toward your establishing new patterns and practices that align with where you'd like to be. You will recapture your ability to see all that your life has to offer, not solely the gray, the hard, the sad and the stressful.
